Mthuli Ncube, Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion of Zimbabwe, emphasized Africa’s leapfrogging potential in AI, fostering strong cooperation opportunities with China.
In addition, Ncube noted that Africa’s vast carbon sinks and resources position it as an active participant in the global green transition. Collaborative platforms like FOCAC and the Belt and Road Initiative offer solid opportunities to deepen infrastructure and other cooperation. With China ready to extend the zero-tariff treatment to cover 100 percent of tariff lines for all 53 African countries that have diplomatic ties with China, Africa faces new growth prospects, with success hinging on maximizing these policies for mutual benefit.
