As one of the four major year paintings of China, Mianzhu new year painting is originated in the Song Dynasty (960-1297), and known for woodblock printing and hand-painted coloring techniques.
Xiaode Town's Nianhua Village in Mianzhu City, Sichuan Province is the birthplace and main hub for preserving this art form. Today, this village has developed a complete industrial chain, producing more than 20 series, including new year painting-themed embroidery, bamboo-woven designs, and clothing, with over 1,000 types and related products exported to more than 50 countries and regions worldwide.
