Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County in Central China's Hunan Province is known for its carved and preserved fruits.

The handicraft integrating local food and folk cultures dates back over 2,000 years ago.

Local women firstly carve with lances delicate floral patterns on the slices of shaddock peel.

After cleaning those slices, they add sugar or honey and then dry them in the sun.

Those foods, as exquisite as artworks, can be eaten and made into tea.

The unique handicraft has been on the list of the province's intangible cultural heritage since 2009.
