(ECNS) -- The Macao Special Administrative Region launched self-service kiosks in four Greater Bay Area cities on Monday, including Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, and Jiangmen, to help residents living and working on the mainland access government services.
The kiosks offer 35 services, including social welfare, identification, tax inquiries, voter registration, and transportation.
Each kiosk is equipped to scan designated identification documents issued by the Macao SAR government, along with a QR code scanner to verify digital identities. A facial recognition camera further authenticates user identity. For payment, residents can settle relevant fees by scanning QR codes.
In addition, these kiosks feature an accessibility mode tailored for children and individuals with special needs.
The kiosks have helped streamline services and improve access, according to the Macao SAR Identification Department.
