(ECNS)— Yujian 77, China's first all-electric offshore tourist vessel, successfully concluded a two-day trial voyage Wednesday afternoon in the Saijiang River of Fu'an City, southeast China's Fujian Province. The vessel is expected to be put into trial operation in June.
The vessel measures 49 meters in length and 14.5 meters in width, with a rated passenger capacity of 358. Equipped with two 450-kilowatt electric propulsion motors, it can reach a top speed of 20 kilometers per hour and has a cruising range of up to 45 nautical miles. The vessel is designed for multiple functions, including sightseeing, leisure, conferences, and catering.
During the trial voyage, various tests were conducted, including propulsion loading, course stability evaluation, emergency stop procedures, anchoring performance, zigzag maneuvering, Williamson turn man-overboard rescue drills, and failure mode and effects analysis.
