(ECNS) -- The China-Cambodia “Fish and Rice Corridor” Guangxi Modern Rice Industry Cooperation Project kicked off on Tuesday in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia, according to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
This two-year agricultural technical assistance project aims to promote the modernization of Cambodia’s rice industry chain by leveraging China’s expertise. It is expected to enhance agricultural productivity along the Tonle Sap Lake region, and increase local farmers’ incomes.
Agricultural cooperation is a key part of collaboration between China and ASEAN countries. In recent years, Guangxi has deepened agricultural cooperation with ASEAN countries by capitalizing on its geographical and logistical advantages. To date, Guangxi has established several overseas agricultural cooperation demonstration zones in Cambodia, Vietnam, and other ASEAN nations, and has signed a series of agricultural cooperation agreements.
