Eggshell carving enriches students'?college life in Gansu

The eggshell carving lesson has become an annual routine for freshmen at Lanzhou Resource and Environment Vocational and Technical University, Gansu Province. 　

Under the guidance of Yang Xingguo, an intangible　cultural heritage　inheritor　of eggshell carving, students were able to carve vividly on an eggshell with a pencil and a carving knife. 　

Various types of eggs, including pigeon eggs and duck eggs, were also employed for carving. 　

Not only have these college students profited from their exquisite eggshell carving artifacts, but they have also discovered a valuable lesson in patience and character development.

The unique quality of eggshells -- their brittleness -- made them the perfect medium for eggshell carving, an activity that requires meticulousness and carefulness. 　

Eggshell carving is a folk art of carving delicate patterns on eggshells. Artists emptied the egg mixture and carved beautiful patterns on the egg surface, gradually forming the craft of eggshell carving.
