The conversion of the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel Sangomar has been completed and it set sail from Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province on Tuesday. The conversion took around two years by the shipyard of the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. in Dalian.
The FPSO Sangomar is 372-meter long and 58-meter wide. With a maximum operating depth of 1,300 meters, it will process 100,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 1.3 million cubic feet of gas per day, 145,000 barrels of water injection per day and have storage capacity of 1.3 million barrels of crude oil. It will be operated for the Sangomar field offshore Senegal, West Africa.
The project integrates production and processing, storage and offloading, personnel living and production command. It can operate continuously in the offshore oil field for 20 years without dock maintenance. The living area can accommodate 140 people at the same time, which is truly a "giant offshore oil processing plant".
