Poyang Lake enters dry season at earliest recorded date

(ECNS) -- China's largest freshwater lake, Poyang Lake, entered dry season on Saturday, the earliest date since records started in 1951, according to the local hydrological monitoring center.

Affected by continuous high temperature, the water level of Poyang Lake has dropped more than six meters in 40 days.

At the confluence of Poyang Lake and the Yangtze River, the boundary is clearly visible.
