(ECNS) -- The main part of Mianzhu-Maoxian Highway, which connects Mianzhu City in Deyang with Maoxian County in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Region, was completed on Monday.
With a total length of 56 kilometers, the highway has four bridges and 18 tunnels, and will be finished in three periods.
This highway is one of the most dangerous and difficult highways under construction in China due to its extremely complicated geological conditions.
It will end the history of no direct passages between two neighboring regions, Deyang and Aba, after completion.
It will also be the most convenient tourist passage connecting Sichuan Basin and several scenic spots including Jiuzhaigou scenic area.
