(ECNS) -- Cao Zhangling, 58, is head of Gaozhou Cantonese Puppet Troupe.
She is also an inheritor of the Gaozhou puppet show, a national intangible cultural heritage.
Cao has been performing puppet shows for 42 years.
She said that basic skills were most important for puppet performances.

Cao has moved through three troupes and saw the first two dissolve.
Her father once told her to change her career, but she persisted.
