The 2025 Hood to Coast relay in China will see a historic 1,000 teams tackle a 142.6km course through Zhangjiakou's rugged terrain on June 27, marking the event's largest edition to date.
This year's race will follow a running course from the Saina Du Equestrian Park to the "Snow Ruyi", or National Ski Jumping Center, with an additional 20-kilometer driving segment across 16 relay points.
Participants from more than 10 countries, grouped in teams of five with one support vehicle each, will set off in staggered starts based on projected pace estimates. First-time runners will account for 55% of participants.
The race unveiled its official anthem, Hood to Coast, performed by singer Tian Zhen at a pre-race conference on Friday.
Originating in the United States over 40 years ago, the team relay event was introduced to Zhangjiakou in 2017 and has since gained popularity for its unique blend of endurance, teamwork, and scenic routes.
