On Monday evening, three Chinese tourists driving in Sicily, Italy, were involved in a serious car accident in a collision between two vehicles, resulting in one fatality and two injuries as of 9 pm Monday, CCTV news learned from Chinese Embassy in Italy.
The embassy immediately engaged with local police at the scene, relayed the details to the Consular Protection Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and coordinated with nearby consular assistance volunteers to provide timely support where the accident occurred and at hospital, CCTV News reported on Tuesday.
Currently, the embassy is closely monitoring the situation, maintaining communication with all relevant parties, and safeguarding the legal rights of the deceased and injured.
