The Consulate General of China in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro on Friday strongly condemned the event of a man throwing an explosive device at the Chinese consulate, urging the Brazilian side to launch a full-scale investigation, arrest and punish the offender.
Surveillance camera showed the man throwing an explosive device at the Consulate General on Thursday night, causing damage to part of the building.
China hopes the Brazilian government can take concrete measures to strengthen the protection of Chinese diplomatic institutions and personnel, and make sure their safety and dignity are not violated, the Consulate General said.
