(ECNS) -- "Nanhaijiu 103", China's home-grown rescue vessel with a displacement of 19,000 tons was put into use in South China Sea on Tuesday.
The vessel is 136.9 meters long, 26.7 meters wide and 11 meters deep and is capable of conducting comprehensive rescue missions. It has a range of 16,000 nautical miles, an impressive bollard pull of approximately 350 tonnes, and an endurance of 90 days.
Covering a towing system and autonomous underwater vehicle that can dive as deep as 6,000 meters, it is China's largest rescue ship that can conduct air, sea and underwater searches at the same time.
China has 25rescue vessels, 20 rescue helicopters and 9 emergency rescue teams in southern sea areas to carry out a 24-hour rescue mission.
