A pregnant woman is among 37 novel coronavirus pneumonia patients in Beijing who have been cured and discharged from hospital as of Sunday, local media reported Tuesday.
The woman, 34 weeks pregnant, is now quarantined at a hotel in the capital's Xicheng District, CCTV reported.
On Jan. 20, the woman and her husband took a high-speed train from their hometown Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak in central China's Hubei Province, to Beijing, where they planned to spend the Spring Festival with her husband's parents. However, she felt unwell and had a fever nine days after her arrival.
Her husband took her to Beijing YouAn Hospital under Capital Medical University, a designated hospital where she was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. The whole family was then put into quarantine in the hospital.
"I was sleepless almost the whole night," the woman said of her first night at the hospital. She worried about her family and baby and talked with her husband on the phone.
Fortunately, she only had mild symptoms and recovered in five days. Her unborn baby was also in stable condition as the fetal heart was closely monitored, said the report, citing hospital medical staff.
Since the rest of her family remained in hospital quarantine, the woman was sent to a hotel by staff from the local community and women's federation.
According to the report, the woman is waiting for her family and preparing to deliver her baby in Beijing.
