Mirabilite rime is formed when mirabilite crystalizes at a low temperature. The Salt Lake of Yuncheng, a typical inland saltwater lake, is the world's third largest sodium sulphate inland lake. Due to its high saltness, it is also called the "Dead Sea" of China.
