    1. Gala, shows commemorate war victory

    China will organize an evening gala on Sept 3 in Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, according to a State Council Information Office news conference on Thursday.

    Themed exhibitions and performing arts shows have been planned to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory.

    2. Naval fleet led by Shandong aircraft carrier starts Hong Kong visit

    A fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy led by the aircraft carrier Shandong arrived in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Thursday, kicking off a five-day visit.

    This is the Shandong's first visit to Hong Kong. From Friday to Sunday, the Shandong, the Zhanjiang and the Yuncheng will host open tours, lectures, drill demonstrations and other exchange activities.

    3. China urges cooperation as U.S. lifts trade restrictions

    China's commerce ministry said Friday that dialogue and cooperation are the right path forward, in response to the U.S. lift of a series of economic and trade restrictions on China.

    The U.S. government has lifted a short-lived restriction on ethane exports to China,

    allowing shipments to resume in a move that signals progress in stabilizing trade relations between the two countries, according to Reuters.

    4. Tianwen 2 sends back images of Earth, moon

    China's Tianwen 2 asteroid sampling spacecraft has been on its interplanetary itinerary for more than 33 days, orbiting at a distance of over 12 million kilometers from Earth, and it is in good working condition, the China National Space Administration said Tuesday.

    The robotic probe is currently traveling on a transfer trajectory toward its destination, a near-Earth asteroid called 2016 HO3.

    5. China's 3D-printed mini jet engine triumphs in pioneering flight test

    China successfully completed the maiden flight of a domestically developed ultra-lightweight miniature jet engine Tuesday, which was entirely manufactured using 3D printing technology.

    The flight test took place in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, reaching a maximum altitude of 4,000 meters.

    The engine represents China's first-ever flight-validated turbojet engine in the 160-kilogram thrust class to be manufactured entirely using multi-disciplinary topology optimization additive manufacturing (3D printing) techniques.

    6. Uncertified power banks banned on flights

    China's aviation regulator has banned uncertified power banks on domestic flights, citing urgent safety concerns over fires and other hazards linked to lithium batteries, State media reported on Wednesday.

    7. Air China C909 makes international debut flight on Mongolia route

    An Air China C909, a domestically developed regional aircraft, arrived in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on Tuesday morning, marking the first international flight of Air China's C909 and a further extension of the model's commercial network.

    The flight also indicates a new operational phase of the domestically built aircraft's operation of international flights with the national flag painted on the body.

    8. "Ne Zha 2" concludes China run with over 15 bln yuan box office

    Animated blockbuster "Ne Zha 2" concluded its theatrical run in the Chinese mainland by the end of Monday, having generated a total box office of 15.44 billion yuan (about $2.16 billion) after smashing numerous records, according to ticketing platform Maoyan.

    9.Scientists create the most detailed 3D map of a mouse brain

    Scientists have created the most detailed 3D map of a mouse brain ever produced, a milestone that could revolutionize research on brain disorders, neural circuits, and even future surgical precision.

    The study, published in the prestigious journal Nature on Tuesday, offers a resolution so sharp that it can pinpoint structures as tiny as 1 micrometer — about one-fiftieth the width of a human hair.

    10. Ministry warns of flood risk in north, drought in south

    As continuous rainfall affects a vast expanse of areas across China, a total of 329 rivers reported water levels exceeding flood control alert levels as of 8 am Friday.
