(ECNS) -- State Grid Urumqi Electric Power Supply Company on Monday launched its first smart power monitoring system serving livelihood-related users including medical and health, transportation and other government departments.
After a half-year test, this system can fully sense the power consumption status of users and accurately examine malfunctions, which allows power grid dispatchers and on-site repair personnel to respond to power failures.
It has improved power supply recovery by nearly 25 times, meeting demand among higher-power-supply users.
When an important user experiences a power failure, on-site sensing devices will determine malfunctions and ascertain the power outage scale. Power outage information will then be sent to dispatchers and employees for emergency repair so malfunctions can be addressed in a timely manner, said Jiang Jie, an employee of the State Grid Urumqi Electric Power Supply Company.
All electric supply lines serving livelihood-related power users are under monitor by which 18 disposal procedures have been shortened to 12. Meanwhile, the patrol time of power grid dispatchers is reduced from over three hours to 38 minutes.
