China-Ukraine cooperation without political strings

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Wednesday that the cooperation between China and Ukraine is "mutually beneficial," with no political strings attached.

Hua made the remarks when asked to comment on the recent media reports that China had made the signing of the association agreement between Ukraine and the EU a precondition for China's agricultural investment in Ukraine.

"The above remarks are utterly groundless," Hua said, noting that China and Ukraine are each other's strategic partners, and pragmatic cooperation in agriculture and other fields between the two countries are mutually beneficial, with no political strings attached.
