Visitors look at Thangka works at an exhibition in a gallery in Xining City, capital of Northwest China’s Qinghai Province, March 30, 2017. The exhibition shows 88 Thangka works made by masters in Qinghai, Gansu and Sichuan provinces. Thangka is a type of Tibetan Buddhist scroll-banner painting that can be about both religious subjects, such as Buddhist deities and lamas, as well as non-religious themes like culture, history and legends, and medical knowledge. They are either painted on cotton or embroidered on silk. (Photo: China News Service/Zhang Haiwen)
