The mummified remains of an ancient puppy found near River Syalakh in Russia's Sakha Republic could be used to bring its species back from the dead after being frozen in time for almost 12,400 years. Controversial cloning guru Hwang Woo-suk has also taken samples from the remains in a bid to bring the extinct species back to life. A suspected sibling of the puppy was pulled from the same location near the village of Tumat four years earlier - in 2011 - dubbed Tumat Dog (pictured). It has since been subject to a post-mortem examination which revealed the litter may have been killed during a landslide. (Photo provided to China News Service)
