An archeologist shows ancient roads and wells on the site of a commercial street of Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) in Xi’an, Shaanxi province. Xi'an was once called Chang'an (everlasting peace) and served as the first capital of a unified China in about 200 BC, at the same time the first Emperor Qin Shi Huang's sculptors began crafting thousands of clay soldiers for his monumental tomb. A total of 450 cultural relics including potteries, jadewares, and bronzes were found in the site, according to local cultural relic’s protection department.
