High rents shut 60-year-old noodle restaurant in Beijing(4/6)

Customers enjoy their noodles in the time-honored Xincheng Noodle House in Qianmen, downtown Beijing, March 24, 2015. The 60-year-old restaurant will close on March 25 due to rocketing rents. It started as a private noodle house and was then nationalized in 1956. Later, it was operated by private owners, featuring the same decor, products and even staff for decades, and has become a mainstay in Qianmen where many historic buildings have been razed in recent years as part of the street's modernization.
