Xinjiang opens first women football club (5/5)

The launch ceremony of Snow Mountain Women’s Football Club is held in Urumqi, capital of Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, March 17, 2015. As the first women’s football club in the autonomous region, its members are all students at the Xinjiang Vocational and Technical College of Sports, and come from five ethnic groups: Uygur, Han, Hui, Kazak, and Mongol. The club will take part in qualifying matches in Nanjing for the scheduled First Youth National Games this year.
