Year of 2014 marks 60th anniv. of opening of Qinghai-Tibet highway(6/6)

Photo taken on Sept 16, 2014 shows the highway constructors posing for group photo in front of a monument in the Qaidam Basin in northwest China's Qinghai province. With their efforts, a new highway linking Beijing to Golmud is scheduled to open to traffic in 2015. The year of 2014 marks the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Qinghai-Tibet highway. The highway, linking Xining, capital city of Qinghai province, and Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, is a lifeline for Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
