Iconic ‘giant green tanks’ in Hohhot to be demolished (1/2)

A demolition project over two giant gasholder tanks is underway in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Monday, September 15, 2014. The gasholders nicknamed “giant green tank” by local people represented landmark architectures of the city in the past decade. Volumes for the two 60-meter-tall gasholders are about 5,000 cubic meters. The installations are demolished to prevent possible blast. [Photo: China News Service/ Liu Wenhua]
