China's submersible Jiaolong released for scientific research (2/3)

China's manned submersible Jiaolong is ready to dive into the sea for scientific research, July 16, 2014. Jiaolong and its support ship the Xiangyanghong 09 are on a scientific research voyage in the northwest Pacific Ocean, during which it will research cobalt-rich crusts and life forms inhabiting the bottom of the sea.
