Stray dog shelter searches for social support (4/8)

Care givers give an injection to a dog with skin disease at a stray dog shelter in Taiyuan, capital of north China's Shanxi Province, March 18, 2014. The shelter was home for some 300 stray dogs when it was founded by dog lovers in 2011. However, it is facing difficulties as the number of strays is constantly on the rise. By far, over 2,000 dogs are hosted in the shelter. Tight budgets for health care, bacterin and dog food are pressuring the owner to find a solution. Through social media tools like Weibo and Wechat, a popular instant messaging service in China, the shelter searches for social support and hope it could ease the trouble. (Xinhua/Yan Yan)
