The gilding work of a 48-meter-high bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha is completed in Xingzi County, Jiangxi Province, March 3, 2013. The Buddha statue has been recognized as the highest Amitabha Buddha in the world and the only outdoor Amitabha Buddha in China. A total of 48-kilogram gold has been used to gild the Statue. The overall style of the Amitabha Buddha imitates the Buddha statues in the Longmen Grottoes and it can be regarded as a fine religious art with the highest level in the modem society, according to the principal of the project.
