    Thousand-year-old relics unearthed in Sichuan (1/4)

    A stone carving of an animal is excavated from an archaeological site at the Tianfu Square in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, January 9, 2013. The sculpture, 3.3 meters long, 1.2 meters wide and 1.7 meters tall, weighs around 8.5 tons. It is made of red sandstone and may date back to the Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC) or Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD), according to archeologists. [Photo: CNS/Wang Jun]
