Ancient road, eave tiles discovered near Hangu Pass (1/5)

Photo taken in November shows an archaeological site near the Hangu Pass, a road used by trading caravans in ancient China, in Henan Province. An ancient road and several inscriptions were discovered. The road served as a passage to the ancient Silk Road, which was militarily and economically significant at that time, as it linked Luoyang and Xi'an, two of China's ancient capitals. [Photo: Xinhua]
