Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD)

"Thin" was regarded as beautiful during the Song Dynasty and slim and elongating tailoring was fashionable. The colors and patterns of the fabrics changed too. Compared to the bold and warm colors of the Tang Dynasty, lighter and paler colors such as light green, silver, violet and pale pink were preferred. Patterns shifted from geometric shapes to paintings from nature. Aristocratic women began binding their feet in this period too.
