The second warship Ji'nan was the first ship of the first-generation destroyers designed and made by China independently. It started service in the Chinese navy in December 1971 and has been displayed in the Qingdao Navy Museum as an exhibit since its decommissioning in November 2007. The second Ji'nan ship carried out over 1,400 equipment tests, which laid the foundation for China's building of large surface warships.
