Fluorine pollution in electroplating | How 'toxic' is the new pollutant PFOS?

There is a kind of substance that you may have never heard of, but you may come into contact with it every day. It is perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS). After entering the bodies through respiratory inhalation, drinking water or food intake, PFOS and its derivatives are difficult to excrete and eventually enriched in the blood, liver, kidneys, and brain of the human bodies and organisms, therefore, they are considered to be a kind of environmental pollutant with systemic multi-organ toxicity.

At present, PFOS has been listed as a persistent organic pollutant by the Stockholm Convention. With the increasingly strict control of PFOS in the world, China has also demonstrated a positive response and introduced a series of policies and measures to jointly promote the elimination of PFOS.
