The EU's plan to impose additional tariffs on imports of Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) is exactly the wrong move, said Erik Solheim, former executive director of the United Nations Environment Programme, on the sidelines of the 3rd Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA) International Think Tank Forum in Huzhou of Zhejiang Province.
"Green competition is a race to the top, while protectionism is a race to the bottom," Solheim suggested that each country should compete on making better green products rather than building trade walls. (By Huang Fang Videographer: He Xianjin)
