Freezing temperatures turn boiling water into ice crystals

The temperatures　in Mohe City, the northernmost part of China, have　recently plunged to　minus 40　degrees Celsius.　

The extreme cold weather also marks the peak season of winter tourism. Tourists from across the globe experienced the magnificent snow world in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. 　

Turning boiling water into ice crystals　has become a popular game for tourists.　

When boiling water is thrown into freezing air, vapors encounter an extreme temperature difference, which rapidly cools down and condenses into ice crystals, forming an arc-shaped ice halo.
