Street interview: Residents expect China and Europe to strengthen cooperation

The 24th China-European Union (EU) Summit was held in the Chinese capital of Beijing on Thursday.　

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership and the 25th anniversary of the China-EU Summit mechanism. 　

Established in 1998 as an annual meeting mechanism, the China-EU Summit is devoted to enhancing dialogue and cooperation between the two sides in areas including politics, economy, culture and society. 　

In an interview with China News Service (CNS), people from home and abroad shared their views on China-Europe relations. The China-EU Summit represents a sign of the exchanges between China and Europe that there will be more cooperation than confrontation between the two sides, a Beijing resident told CNS. 　

As China recently started implementing a unilateral visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia on a trial basis, many people expect China and Europe to continue to maintain close ties and cooperation.
