The remains of 25 Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) soldiers killed in the 1950-1953 Korean War were returned to China on Thursday from the Republic of Korea (ROK).
At around 11:30 a.m., a Y-20 military transport aircraft carrying the remains and belongings of the fallen soldiers landed at the Taoxian International Airport in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.
Chinese People's Volunteers veterans, military veterans, and Shenyang residents braved snow at the Chinese People's Volunteer Army Martyrs' Cemetery in Shenyang, waiting for the fallen heroes to return home.
In an interview, Nan Qixiang, a Chinese People's Volunteers veteran, said that although it is cold, he must come here to welcome his companions. He said they once fought side by side in the field of ice and snow. Nan also said that we should never forget the martyrs, never forget history and cherish peace.
