San Francisco has been cleaning up streets, increasing local security measures, and installing fences around Moscone Center as the city prepares for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference (APEC).
To boost local businesses ahead of APEC, San Francisco Restaurant Week is extended to two weeks, featuring more than 200 local eateries. San Francisco's Chinatown, which is close to the conference venue, also rolled out special events, including a night market.
This year's event will be the largest international conference to be held in San Francisco since the UN Charter was signed in 1945 during the UN Conference on International Organization. Representatives of 21 member economies are set to discuss a variety of issues, including digital trade, climate change, and environmental sustainability.
