Fuzhou offers free subway rides to boost night?economy

(ECNS) -- Fuzhou City　in east China's Fujian Province has announced%26ensp;that its subway will be free on nights, weekends, and holidays until the end of the year. The scheme aims at boosting the local economy and encouraging its night markets. 　

Starting from Sunday, the scheme has allowed commuters in Fuzhou to use vouchers after 5 p.m. through the e-Fuzhou, Alipay, and UnionPay apps to ride the metro for free.　 　

At the Dongjiekou Station on　Metro Line 4, the reporter of China News Service saw many people coming　to experience the free rides. Fuzhou Metro Line 4　is the first metro line in Fujian Province to use a high-level fully automated driving system, running a total length of 28.4 kilometers with 23 stations. 　

"Daily commuting has become convenient for residents since Fuzhou Metro Line 4 opened to traffic. Senior citizens can get to parks quickly by taking the train," said Yao Jinrong, a senior passenger.
