China makes breakthroughs in landing area control technology for carrier rockets

Launched on May 17, the Long March-3B carrier rocket booster II was equipped with a system to control the parachute landing zone, which accurately guided the booster II separation body to the predetermined "parachute landing zone", successfully reducing the landing area of the separation body by 80%.

The test has laid a foundation for the engineering application of the technology to control the parachute landing zone.
