Chinese exporters have brought their latest innovative products with cutting-edge technologies to the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) with hopes of clinching more overseas orders as the biannual trade event fully reopened its in-person exhibitions after three years of COVID-19 disruptions.
An aerial vehicle, self-driving bus, and new energy cars have been displayed at the New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicles exhibition. Among them, WeRide Mini Robobus attracted many prospective buyers to learn information. The vehicle is China's first fully driverless mini Robobus created for city open road operation. It is a front-loaded, mass-produced model with no steering wheel, accelerator, or brakes.
New-energy vehicles industry has maintained its rapid growth. According to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the monthly output volume and sales of the new-energy vehicle reached 674,000 and 653,000 in March. The exports of NEVs in March stood at 78,000, increasing by 3.9 times over 2022 levels, while general exports from January to March stood at 248,000, rising by 110 percent year-on-year.
