(ECNS) -- Sixteen people have died and 36 others are missing after a flash flood hit Datong County, western China's Qinghai Province.
A sudden rainstorm triggered a landslide on Wednesday night, affecting more than 6,000 people and over 1,500 houses.
More than 2,000 people have been involved in emergency rescue and relief work.
Further rescue work and investigations into the accident are underway.
