(ECNS) -- Several young oriental white storks were spotted in the coastal wetland in Tangshan, Hebei Province. Bird lover Nie Yongli has recorded these rare birds.

More than 120 oriental white storks are inhabiting here so far with over 30 newly born this year.

It usually breeds in northeast China and overwinters in the lower reaches and south of the Yangtze River, but has begun to breed in the wetland in Tangshan every March since 2018.

The oriental white stork, or the panda bird, is a wading bird living in southeast Russia and northeast China.

It is China's first-class protected animal and has been listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
