(ECNS) -- A volcanic geological relic dating back to 220 million years ago has been discovered in Qaidam Basin, only 300 meters away from human settlement.
A cave featuring columnar jointing patterns was also found at the back of the northern part of the mountain.
The bizarre patterns are believed to be formed after lava flowed over and later cooled on the rocks.
