    Scientist sheds light on nanogenerator's future application

    (ECNS) -- A high energy forum was held in Beijing by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on Monday.

    Scientist Wang Zhonglin displayed how fine chest motion caused by breaths can drive a cardiac pacemaker.

    "We made a nanogenerator about 3cm long, 2cm wide and 1mm thick, and attached it to the thoracic wall, then the energy generated by breathing provided power for the pacemaker," said Wang, director of Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

    In addition to the generator in the nanogenerator, there is also an energy storage device in the circuit tube. Generating energy through a human's fine motion is feasible in technology.

    This nanogenerator will be smaller in the future. Nanotechnology has greatly improved its functions. Wang said the Nanogenerator has the advantages of high efficiency, light weight and low cost at low frequency.

    Meanwhile, it can also realize self-driven sensing and has bright application prospects in many fields. There are a large number of books in a library.

    A signal receptor will be able to trace the book, he added. Wang believes that nanogenerator technology can overcome the difficulties of disordered seawater movement and energy collection, and will have great potential in marine energy.
