(ECNS) -- Bashan, located at the heart of the Three Gorges Reservoir region, has invested 1 billion yuan ($156 million) in developing the photovoltaic (PV) industry.
With 1,800 mu (about 120 ha) PV panels in the village, this project will offset the gap between agriculture and the PV industry.
The project covers 809 households, 72 of whom have shaken off poverty. The village used land beneath the PV panels to invite investment, attracting five new agricultural entities to develop the local aquaculture industry. Annual land lease gains see villagers collect 1.2 million yuan.
