(ECNS) -- Sixteen Chinese mergansers were spotted by bird lovers at Luoqingjiang River, Luzhai County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The migratory bird, known as "Panda Birds", is less than 2,000 in number and listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The local government prohibited human activities such as dredging, fishing and deforestation within 5 kilometers of the waters and deployed two rangers to patrol around.
