(ECNS) -- Detailed planning for the Daxing International Airport economic zone was approved Thursday.
$1.5 billion will be invested in the construction of a development zone in Beijing.
The zone will cover around 50 sq km.
Enough resources will be reserved for national-level projects and innovations of significant scientific technology in the future.
Development of the airport economic zone is expected to evoke the city's energy and reinforce intercity links.
It can promote the landing of core projects, like an International Exhibition Center and International Aviation community.
Daxing International Airport is located in the suburb of Beijing, serving as the second largest international airport in Beijing.
